Our goal is simple - to stop mobility parking abuses.
Every year, there are hundreds of thousands of mobility park abuses.
We want to change that.
About Us
Our Mission
Canary's commitment is rooted in a simple, yet profound goal: to ensure that mobility parking spaces across New Zealand are utilised by those who are legally entitled to them. We champion inclusivity and fairness, striving to make everyday life more accessible for permit holders.
Our Vision
We envisage a future where mobility parking spaces are unfailingly available to permit holders, fostering a culture of respect and compliance. Canary is dedicated to realising this future, ensuring that accessibility is not just an ideal, but a reality. Together, we can ensure a future where respect and accessibility are a given, not a gamble.
Our Founder's Story
Canary was born from the deep-rooted passion and personal journey of our founder, who has been a steadfast volunteer and supporter of Arthritis New Zealand since early childhood. After two decades of support this year, our founder's experiences with the community have revealed the distress and inconvenience caused by the misuse of mobility parking. Despite years of advocacy and support, the prevalence of this issue has remained largely unchanged over the past twenty years. Moved by the stories of those affected, our founder established Canary with a resolve to make a lasting difference.
What We Do
Leveraging cutting-edge technology, Canary stands as a beacon of proactive parking management. Our methods are not punitive but are designed to educate and inform. With unmistakable signage, an intuitive web app, and a focus-built camera enforcement system, we ensure that rules are not only followed but understood, maintaining a fair parking experience for all.
Our Approach
Visibility and education are the pillars of our approach. Every managed location is a testament to our philosophy, with clear signs indicating active monitoring—a gentle reminder of the communal benefits of adhering to parking regulations. Through this, we aim to instill a collective responsibility towards maintaining parking integrity.
Our Impact
Canary's work resonates beyond the confines of parking lots. In collaboration with businesses and local governments, we are working to establish a legacy of social responsibility and trust. Our initiatives not only safeguard the rights of permit holders but also uplift the moral and ethical standards of the communities we serve.
Our Goal
At the heart of Canary lies a great goal: to put ourselves out of a job. Our ultimate ambition is a future where our job is no longer necessary - where breaches of mobility parking are a thing of the past. We work tirelessly towards a day when compliance is universal, and the very issue Canary was created to address has been eradicated through the efforts of our community, of vigilant monitoring, education, and advocacy.
We measure our success by the decrease in breaches and the increase in awareness and respect for mobility parking spaces. If we can arrive at a point where our cameras only capture vehicles rightfully parked in designated spots, where every driver is an ally in upholding the rights of permit holders, then we will have achieved our goal.
This vision fuels our dedication and guides our operations each day, bringing us one step closer to a society where fairness in parking is not enforced, but embraced as a community standard. It is a bold aim, but one that we pursue with the conviction that it is not just an idealistic dream, but a attainable reality.
Together, we strive for the day when Canary's services are a testament to a bygone era, and mobility parking abuse is permanently parked in the history books.
