Questions about a breach notice

Why have I received a breach notice?

A vehicle registered to you was recorded in a monitored mobility park without a valid mobility parking permit displayed. Before any notice goes out, a member of our team reviews the recording to confirm what it shows, so a notice is never sent by a camera alone.

How do I know the notice is genuine?

Canary manages mobility parking at sites around New Zealand, and signs at each one set out the parking terms. If you’d like to confirm a notice came from us before you do anything, contact us.

How did you get my name and address?

From the Motor Vehicle Register, under authorisation 2023-au3080. Our General Statement sets out when that information can be accessed and what it can be used for.

I have a mobility parking permit. What should I do?

Appeal the notice and include a photo of your valid permit. Valid appeals are waived.

I think the notice is wrong. Can I appeal?

Yes. You have 28 days to submit an appeal. We reply to messages within 2 days and make a decision on appeals within 1–2 weeks. If an appeal is declined we’ll explain why, and the notice still applies.

Where can I get help?

If you can’t use the online forms, or you have a question about your notice, call or email us.
